Makes significant components in Britain
Movements, cases or dials are produced in-house or by British suppliers to the maker’s specification. Partial manufacture is labelled explicitly.
Modern British watchmaking, documented
There is no legal definition of a British watch. So we record the movement, case, dial, assembly, regulation and named watchmaker — then show our sources.
7 more assemble and regulate in Britain. 2 are British-led but Swiss-made.
The proposition
One workshop machines a case, makes a dial and regulates a movement. Another closes a nearly complete watch. Both statements can be technically true. The structured provenance card makes the difference visible.
The provenance framework
Movements, cases or dials are produced in-house or by British suppliers to the maker’s specification. Partial manufacture is labelled explicitly.
International components are assembled, regulated and tested in Britain by a named maker or identifiable workshop team.
A British company or design studio whose watches are manufactured and assembled outside Britain. Quality is not the question; provenance is.
British ownership, naming or heritage with limited publicly stated British involvement in production.
Selected bench records
The ceiling against which every other provenance tier is measured.
Proof that a small English workshop can combine Swiss specialist input with meaningful domestic manufacture.
The strongest demonstration that a single difficult component can justify Tier I when the rest of the chain is stated honestly.
One of the strongest omissions from the initial brief: a British workshop doing more than final case-closing and saying so in technical language.
The ideal example of why a brand-level badge can never replace a model-level provenance table.
A useful test of the framework: commercial scale and playful branding do not cancel out meaningful British watchmaking work.

Every profile carries a check date, verification status, model-level caveats and a source ledger. Where a primary source cannot be confirmed, the uncertainty stays visible.
